Developing and designing professionally in this diverse field is a forward-looking activity.You'll be part of these innovations in Film and Motion Design.
In this practice-oriented curriculum, you'll learn time-based media design strategies, concepts, and techniques. The course covers a wide variety of creative expression, from camera work and sound design to analog stop-motion animation, CGI, and 3D modeling. This course teaches time-based media strategies from creative industry experts.
Our university has professional audio, video, post-production, and animation software for realizing project ideas. Our animation and greenscreen studios are also available.

Price
Fee for two semesters (1 year) is 12100,00 euro for international students
The tuition fee includes:
- Advanced teaching by faculty with real-world experience
- Personal career planning support from our Career Center colleagues
- Enrollment fee, examination fee, bachelor's or master's thesis fee
- State-of-the-art equipment in the teaching rooms and the technology lending facility (Arsenal)
- Free German or English language courses for enrolled students
- The possibility to individually choose modules from other programs as part of your curriculum
- Access to the Job Teaser online platform, through which UE connects you with practice partners and regional companies
- Use of the UE campus including library, cafeteria, WLAN and other services
Also once you are accpeted as a student, you will be asked to pay a reservation fee of € 3,000. The reservation fee is a one-time payment that will sercure your spot and that will be deducted from the total cost of the programme, before you are invoiced for tuition.
For example: If your total programme costs 30,000 € and the reservation fee is paid (3,000 €), you would only be invoiced for the remaining 27,000 € in tuition once you start studying.
Requirements for applicants
Admission to a Bachelor’s Degree program in Film & Motion Design
The following requirements apply for the start of a Bachelor's degree:
- Higher education entrance qualification*;
- Portfolio (5 - 8 work samples centered around moving images. You may submit filmed or animated, digital or analog samples. All kinds of picture series (storyboards, flipbooks) and also other creative projects are welcome, too. You may also submit videos as MP4, Vimeo or YouTube links.)
- Motivation letter (min. 500 words)
* In certain cases, you may also be able to study without a high school diploma. In such cases you will need to have a minimum of three year’s professional experience, and be enrolling in a programme relevant to that experience.
