Program description

Our distinctive BA/BSc (Hons) Arts and Cultural Management degree program will provide you with the knowledge and skills you need if managing an arts venue seems like your ideal career.

The entertainment and performance industry is expanding year over year due to the constant need for escape, whether it be accomplished through comedy, theater, music, spoken word, or dance.

This course from UCA Epsom's Business School for the Creative Industries introduces you to the dynamic world of events and promotions, where no two days are ever the same and you'll find yourself collaborating with artists, performers, and business leaders.

You'll learn what happens behind the scenes to put on an event, whether it's at a small local multi-arts facility or a significant music festival like Glastonbury, and how logistics, programming, ticketing, personnel, and catering work together to create a special experience.

You'll gain knowledge of how new technologies are transforming performance, from immersive and interactive theatre to holograms and virtual reality, as well as the growing role that social media and digital communications are playing in the marketing and publicizing of events.

Before beginning your first year of study for a degree, you can also enroll in an international foundation year that focuses on English and essential creative abilities. You can also spend a year on a professional placement to obtain invaluable work experience before moving on to your final year of study.
