Program description
On our new BSc (Hons) Architectural Technology degree, you'll acquire the specialized knowledge and confidence needed to become an architectural technologist, which will enable you to assist construction design teams in bringing new structures to life.
You will study about a variety of spatial practices and the value that an Architectural Technologist may bring to the practice of architecture and society at large while based at the School of Architecture and Design at UCA Canterbury. In addition to having access to our extensive facilities, which include cutting-edge scanning and VR technology, advanced fabrication and prototyping techniques, and traditional crafts, you'll learn sophisticated digital modeling and control techniques, like building information modeling (BIM), and use these tools to create your own unique approaches to the challenges of building construction and detail.
You will be guided along the way by our team of academics and a wide range of business professionals, and collaborative opportunities with students from across the School of Architecture and Design will give you an enhanced experience where specialized learning is combined with fresh perspectives and methods to broaden your own horizons.
You can enroll in an Integrated International Foundation Year, which was created especially to give international students English language and creative skills before they start their first year of study.
In order to ensure that you graduate prepared for the workforce, you will gain experience working with industry through actual project opportunities, masterclasses, and optionally a professional work placement if you choose the Professional Practice Year pathway.

Requirements for applicants
If you do not have qualifications from the United Kingdom, we will accept equivalent qualifications from your native country for admittance into our programs.
In addition to academic credentials, some of our courses require a portfolio of previous work.
For our Bachelor's courses, we usually require that you have:
- High school leaving certificate or equivalent.
- A transcript showing successful completion of one year of a Bachelor's degree from a recognised university with CGPA 3.8.

Portfolio requirements
For these course, you must perform an individual piece as an audition. This piece can be up to two minutes long and can be one of the following: a brief modern text (play or screenplay); a short piece of Shakespeare; or an original work you have composed.
