Program description

On our BA (Hons) Acting and Performance degree at UCA Farnham, explore the theoretical, creative, and practical facets of acting and performance and learn how to perform with assurance on stage and in front of the camera.

We take pride in offering you all you need in a course that covers all the various facets of the craft. And because of our strong ties to Farnham Maltings, you'll have access to the venue's vast resources, expansive performance venues, and professional network in addition to the chance to see live and screened performances.

Additionally, you'll work cooperatively with classmates on courses in Film Production, Music, Animation, Journalism, Media and Games Arts and utilize UCA Farnham's extensive facilities, including its world-class Film and TV Centre, sound recording studios, and film making equipment. This will ensure that you take your place in our thriving and collaborative creative community.

You can enroll in an Integrated International Foundation Year, which was created especially to give international students English language and creative skills before they start their first year of study.

As a part of this degree, you have the option of finishing a Professional Practice Year. You will have the chance to reach your full professional, academic, and personal potential as a result, giving you the tools you need to operate confidently and enthusiastically in creative environments. These abilities are highly recognized by employers, and a sizable percentage of placement students receive graduate-level employment offers or continue on to postgraduate study.

Requirements for applicants

If you do not have qualifications from the United Kingdom, we will accept equivalent qualifications from your native country for admittance into our programs.

In addition to academic credentials, some of our courses require a portfolio of previous work.

For our Bachelor's courses, we usually require that you have:

  • High school leaving certificate or equivalent.
  • A transcript showing successful completion of one year of a Bachelor's degree from a recognised university with CGPA 3.8.

Portfolio requirements

For these course, you must perform an individual piece as an audition. This piece can be up to two minutes long and can be one of the following: a brief modern text (play or screenplay); a short piece of Shakespeare; or an original work you have composed.
