Program description
Competent translators are required in practically every industry in today's globalised society, including media, education, commerce, logistics, tourism, publishing, law, and so on. The demand for skilled interpreters with a strong grasp of English has grown in recent years, particularly in Turkish import-export firms.
Istanbul Aydn University established the Translation and Interpreting undergraduate programme in English in 2012 with the intention of providing a four-year licence education, in response to global market demands and the development of sectors in Turkey that fulfil worldwide demands. Our professional curriculum educates students to be translation and interpretation experts. As we address the special needs of expanding markets, we recognise the value of knowledge in our day and prepare our students to be expert interpreters in their fields. We urge students to become acquainted with computer-assisted translation tools so that they can benefit from technical advancements in the translation sector.
The courses in our department are designed to improve our students' English skills and increase their understanding of linguistic nuances as well as social, cultural, historical, and linguistic specificities. Internships and professional opportunities are available to our students at businesses and organisations. They are also given projects to help them prepare for an interpreting assignment, and the spontaneity required for interpretation might help them complete translating work faster. As a result, our programme is happy to offer students the skills necessary to succeed in today's competitive employment market.

Price
Fee for two semester (1 year education) is 4,000 USD for international students.
Requirements for applicants
- High school diploma (a copy translated to Turkish or English)
- High school transcript (a copy translated to Turkish or English)
- A copy of all the grades of high school’s transcripts.
- Photocopy of the relevant pages of your passport
- 60 % marks (min) in High School
- For English degree program applicants: TOEFL score - 79 points/PTE (55) (If English is not the first/official language of the country). If students do not have TOEFL then he/she has to pass English Proficiency Exam, which will be held in IAU.
