Program description

Computer Science is at the center of many modern industries, as computer systems and IT underpin practically all manufacturing processes. Computer technology develops quickly, yet there are underlying fundamentals. Jacobs University's Computer Science curriculum focuses on applying these ideas. In addition to programming, software engineering, and computer science fundamentals, you'll study mathematics (calculus, linear algebra, and statistics) and engineering and sciences while performing guided research. Study Computer Science at a top-ranked university (THE Ranking, THE Young University Ranking 2021, CHE Ranking) with job prospects in top tech businesses.

The Computer Science and Software Engineering bachelor's program is online and flipped. Students take online courses with asynchronous lectures, practice material, tutorials, and hands-on sessions. Faculty, tutors, and lecturers help students apply their knowledge. The hands-on parts include student cooperation, use of tools and concepts for dispersed work in multiple regions and time zones, and remote access to physical objects and setups.

In the final year, Management and Leadership classes augment the Computer Science core. Students will learn programming, software development, business, and how to turn breakthroughs into viable products. They may also take interdisciplinary classes that challenge them to think beyond their discipline.

Students can enter the job market or continue their studies in a graduate program, such as Constructor University's MSc in Computer Science and Software Engineering. Computer Science and Software Engineering graduates are well-prepared for current employment, including working remotely and in a diverse team.
